It appears that the Floyd Mayweather and Conor McGregor fight could actually happen. We all know McGregor wanted it to go down, but now it seems Floyd may also be interested.
Over the weekend McGregor announced that he’d be putting his UFC career on hold to focus all of his attention on fighting Maywewather. In response, Floyd tells Showtime’s Jim Gray, “I believe the fight can happen. Like I said before, Conor McGregor is a tough competitor. He proved throughout the years in the UFC that he can fight standing up. So we’ll just have to see what the future holds.”
“Can we make this fight happen? Absolutely,” Floyd reiterates. “That’s what everyone wants to see. Of course, Showtime is the biggest and the best in the business so hopefully on Showtime Pay-Per-View we can make it happen.”
Mayweather, who is 49-0, says this fight is all about entertainment and that both he and McGregor are outspoken and entertaining. He says that it’s only right to give the fans what they want to see.
Do you think a McGregor v. Mayweather fight will actually happen? If so, who are you placing your bet on?
