Floyd Roger Myers Jr., a former child actor who captured hearts in 90s television, has died at the age of 42.
His mother, Renee Trice, confirmed the news, telling TMZ that Myers passed away early Wednesday morning at his home in Maryland following a heart attack. Trice revealed that her son had suffered three previous heart attacks over the last three years. She also shared that they had spoken the night before his passing.
Myers began his career by stepping into the shoes of a young Will Smith on the legendary sitcom “The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air.” His performance left a memorable impression during the show’s run. He later portrayed a young Marlon Jackson in the acclaimed television miniseries “The Jacksons: An American Dream.”
In 2000, he made a short appearance in the teen drama “Young Americans,” one of his final credited roles in the industry.
Though his time in the spotlight was brief, Floyd Roger Myers Jr. left behind roles that resonated with a generation of viewers who grew up watching his early work on television.
