A video shows students beating up their autistic schoolmate.
Last week, students at Howell High School were caught on camera beating up their autistic classmate. The video has now launched a criminal investigation into the matter.
The footage shows two students wailing on and kicking the child while he yells out in pain. Eventually, the kids stop beating him and take off with his shoes.
The kids involved may be facing assault charges, according to Fox News. But, that request is being reviewed by the Livingston County Prosecutor’s Office.
In a statement, Howell Public School District said: “As a school and district, we do not tolerate this type of behavior.” It added that the “school has started the discipline process per the district’s student handbook, and law enforcement is involved.”
There are no details on whether the children will be tried as adults.
