Forbes has revealed its list of The Highest-Paid YouTube Stars Of 2020, with the top-earning spot going to 9-year-old Ryan Kaji for the third year in a row. The highest-paid YouTubers raked in an estimated $211 million in total earnings from June 1, 2019, to June 1, 2020, which nets them a 30 percent increase from the previous year.
Almost all YouTubers earn the bulk of their earnings from ad revenue generated from their videos. Ad revenue initially dipped toward the beginning of the coronavirus pandemic but “quickly rebounded,” according to Forbes.
Forbes uses earning estimates from June 1, 2019, through June 1, 2020. “Figures are pretax; fees for agents, managers, and lawyers are not deducted. Earnings estimates are based on data from Captiv8, SocialBlade, and Pollstar as well as interviews with industry insiders,” according to the publications explanation of its methodology.

- Jeffree Star earned $15 million on 600 million views from June 2019 through June of 2020. He currently sits at 16.9 million subscribers. The controversial beauty star has recently been caught up in a years-long feud with YouTuber James Charles, accused of sexual assault, and called out on his displays of racist behavior, causing some business ramifications. All the controversy has not put a damper on his YouTube views.
- David Dobrik earned $15.5 million on 2.7 billion views. He boasts 18 million subscribers. The 24-year-old funnyman has been able to cross over to TikTok, amassing 24.7 million views.
- Blippi (Stevin John) earned $17 million on 8.2 billion views. His channel has over 27 million followers. Blippi creates children’s content and educates through his videos.
- Nastya (Anastasia Radzinskaya) earned $18.5 million on 39 billion views. Her YouTube channel has 190.6 subscribers. The six-year-old Russian YouTuber features videos of her and her father.
- Preston Arsement brought in $19 million on 3.3 billion views. He has 33.4 million subscribers on his channel, which features gaming content.
- Markiplier (Mark Fischbach) earned $19.5 million on 3.1 billion views. He has 27.8 million subscribers. His channel features break-downs on video games.
- Rhett and Link earned $20 million on 1.9 billion views. Their channel has 41.8 million subscribers. The duo host the “Good Mythical Morning” talk show.
- Dude Perfect earned $23 million on 2.77 billion views. The channel has 57.5 million subscribers and features Coby Cotton, Cory Cotton, Garrett Hilbert, Cody Jones, and Tyler Toney performing stunts.
2. Mr. Beast (Jimmy Donaldson) earned $24 million on 3 billion views. The channel has more than 47 million subscribers. Forbes describes Mr. Beat’s videos as “a mix of stunts and humor.”
1. Ryan Kaji earned almost $30 million on 12.2 billion views. His channel has amassed an impressive 41.7 million subscribers who tune in to watch the 9-year-old inbox and review toys.
