Jevon Freeman, former ASU basketball player, was murdered while meeting with a potential buyer of an iPhone 5. Freeman put the phone up for sale on Craigslist. Terrance Dent, 18 years old, was charged in Freeman’s death. According to CovNews, Police arrested and charged Dent with murder, aggravated assault, possession of a weapon during the commission of a crime, tampering with evidence, and furnishing a pistol to a minor. The minor Latrel Irving, 17 years old, was arrested because the weapon used to kill Freeman was found at his home. Freeman was soon to marry to his fiancé, had two sons and owned his own barbershop.
Lesson of the Day: If you are going to meet with a potential buyer or seller from a Craigslist ad please make sure you have someone with you and that you are in a public place with other people around. There are more details about this murder surfacing.
