While you were unwrapping your Christmas gifts, former Braves outfielder Andruw Jones was arrested for battery in Duluth, GA. Â Around 1:30 a.m. Tuesday, police responded to a call for a domestic dispute between Jones and his wife of 10 years Nicole Derick. Jones was booked into Gwinnett County detention center and later released at 11am on a $2,400 bond.
This isn’t Jones’ first brush with the law. Â According to Daily Mail, in 2001, he testified in the prostitution case against an Atlanta strip club owner. While Jones was never charged, he said that he was invited to the Gold Club and that he was propositioned for sex by two strippers.
He testified under oath that he had sex with both the women in front of the club’s owner and six other men.
Jones is currently playing overseas for the Tohoku Rakuten Golden Eagles of Japan’s Pacific League on a $3.5 million contract. I wonder how this little situation will affect his pockets.Â
