Former Atlanta mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms accuses Capital Grille of turning her away because of her attire.
On Friday, Bottoms tweeted out her frustrations with the restaurant saying, “I was just turned away at @CapitalGrille at Perimeter Mall because I have on leggings.”

WSBTV anchor Kristen Holloway later mentioned Bottoms with a photo of the restaurant’s dress code. According to their website, gym attire, sweat pants, tank tops, hats, and exposed undergarments are not allowed.
Bottoms acknowledged the dress code but claims a white woman who wore the same kind of outfit was allowed in. Initially, Bottoms did not call the incident racially motivated. However, she seemingly believes that was the reason she couldn’t get in.
“Odd that a restaurant in a mall parking lot turns away customers in ‘mall’ attire,” Bottoms wrote. “Asked if I could sit in the bar area and was told, ‘No.’”

Rules are the rules, just wonder if the woman who came in immediately after me, who I did not see come back out, was also denied service. https://t.co/4GRq97cwGP

She continued, “Rules are the rules. Just wonder if the woman who came in immediately after me, who I did not see come back out, was also denied service.”
Bottoms have not made any other comments on the issue, and neither has Capital Grille.

Leggings are not pants/slacks. Would think the “mayor” would see the difference and dress appropriately. Stay in her lane. also.
