I figured something was a little fishy when Iggy Azalea’s lawyers said that Vivid Entertainment can release an alleged sex tape featuring her, but they’ll sue if they use her name. I guess it all makes sense now. In a previous post I detail a conversation I had with Hefe Wine long before this sex tape fiasco. In our conversation he mentioned how he funded and developed Iggy. He also says that he had paperwork on her. Well, now it appears he has dug up that paperwork. While he doesn’t own the name “Iggy Azalea” he surely owns the right to use her image.
Back in 2009 Iggy (real name: Amethyst Amelia Kelly) signed a lengthy agreement with Hefe Wine allowing him exclusive rights (for music video purposes) to manufacture, sell, distribute and advertise ‘any’ recording embodying visual images. The loophole? Drop the Iggy sex tape with some music in the background and BOOM! You’ve got a music video.
Hefe Wine claims that not only does Iggy not have the right to block the sale, she also gave him the legal right to create, host and maintain a website to market Iggy’s works, so he believes he could create a website which would host the video. Hefe Wine has already released a few songs using Iggy’s old vocals and according to my sources, he has a lot more “Iggy” in the vault.
As I said before, if Iggy was smart she would cut a deal and get in on this sex tape money. It’s clear it’s going to come out anyway.
