Former Lions Offensive Lineman Throws Eziekel Elliott Under The Bus After Losing His Job Due To Domestic Violence

Domestic violence has been an issue in the NFL for years. The debate about an acceptable punishment, or lack thereof, within the NFL and among the star players has stirred up some tension among the lesser known ballers.

According to former Lions offensive lineman Rodney Austin, the NFL is inconsistent in the way it enforces its personal conduct policy. He believes the league plays favorites and protects the star players. One player, Austin says managed to benefit from the league’s inconsistency, is Dallas Cowboys rookie running back, Ezekiel Elliott.

“The NFL is definitely inconsistent,” Austin told Bleacher Report. “They want to protect their investments. They want to protect their stars who are either coming or are in the prime of their career. Zeke is out there playing and I’m not.”

Austin was one of a few ballers who received a six-game suspension from the league after being arrested for assault on a woman, assault on a child under 12, misdemeanor larceny and interfering with emergency communication. Four days after his arrest, the Lions let him go.

According to Austin, since he didn’t get to play much, he felt the NFL was able to punish him without hesitation. While, on the other hand, a suspension for Ezekiel Elliott would cost the league.

The rookie out of Ohio State, along with the 13-3 Dallas team, provided the league with massive TV ratings this season. However, just before his NFL debut, he was accused of assaulting his girlfriend. The case was eventually dismissed due to inconsistencies in the evidence and text messages from the alleged victim threatening to set him up.

Reportedly, the league is still continuing their investigation.

What are your thoughts? Is Austin right about Elliott?
