Former Miss Switzerland finalist Kristina Joksimovic was allegedly murdered and then pureed by her husband in a disturbing act of violence, new court documents confirm.
According to Basel-Landschaft region authorities, the 38-year-old was killed back In February, with many believing that her death was suspicious. However, months later, new details surrounding Joksimovic’s passing have recently emerged. Local reports state that Joksimovic’s husband, identified as Thomas, admitted to killing his wife during an investigation in March. The revelation came as a shock as Thomas previously shared that he discovered her lifeless body at the bottom of a staircase. But, an autopsy revealed that Joksimovic had been strangled prior to her body being dismembered with a jigsaw and garden shears.
Authorities have now determined that Joksimovic’s remains were then “pureed” in a blender and later dissolved in a chemical solution, contradicting Thomas’ claims of self-defense. Despite Thomas’s confession and the evidence gathered, authorities have not formally charged him with the crime as of September, although he is currently in police custody as the investigation continues.
Joksimovic became widely known after being crowned Miss Northwest Switzerland in 2007 and competed in the national contest that same year, where she was runner-up to Amanda Ammann. Later, Joksimovic launched her own business as a catwalk coach and mentored Dominique Rinderknecht, Switzerland’s representative in the 2013 Miss Universe pageant. Joksimovic was a mother of two daughters who have been placed in the care of authorities since her death.
