Former MLB Player Darryl Hamilton & Girlfriend Found Dead in Murder-Suicide – blogged by @LoveRubyWoo

What started out as a domestic dispute between former MLB outfielder Darryl Hamilton and his girlfriend, Monica Jordan, over the weekend quickly took a tragic turn. Late Sunday afternoon, police arrived to Monica Jordan’s home in Pearland, Texas to find the couple dead from an apparent murder-suicide. The couple shared a 14-month-old baby who was in the house at the time of the shooting but was left unharmed.

Police showed up at Jordan’s house after a neighbor called and reported a disturbance at the home. They found Hamilton near the doorway and his girlfriend in a different part of the house. Early investigations by the police indicate that the girlfriend shot and killed Hamilton, who died from multiple gunshots, and then turned the gun on herself.

Hamilton was most recognized for his career with the Milwaukee Brewers. He was drafted by the Brewers in 1986 and played for them during the majority of his time with the MLB. After seven seasons in Milwaukee, Hamilton bounced around to different teams, including the Texas Rangers, San Francisco Giants, Colorado Rockies, and the New York Mets before retiring in 2001. After baseball, Hamilton went into broadcasting and was working for the MLB Network at the time of his death.
