An arrest warrant has been issued for former star of MTV’s “Are You The One?,“ Connor Smith, after he allegedly tried to engage in sex acts with an underage girl.
According to the Lake County Sheriff’s Office, an arrest warrant was issued for Smith after he was found interacting with an officer posing as a 15-year-old online for “several weeks.”
Police allege Smith sent explicit videos and images of himself before arranging a meeting for sexual acts.
On Feb. 9, the reality star attempted to meet the minor but was apprehended by detectives before fleeing in his car.
Authorities issued a warrant for his arrest on charges of traveling to meet a minor, grooming, and disseminating harmful material.
As of early Thursday, Smith has not turned himself in, although he indicated he would surrender.
This isn’t the first time Smith had a run-in with the law.
In December 2021, he was arrested for allegedly sexually assaulting a teenage girl. Smith was charged with sexual battery, rape and two counts of criminal confinement. According to court docs, Smith forced a 16-year-old girl whom he met online to perform a sexual act on him after she got into his car. He then drove her to a hotel where he raped her.
In 2015, Smith participated in Season 3 of “Are You the One?” a game show where single players battled to find their ideal partner.
