Two-time NBA champion Rajon Rondo was arrested Sunday afternoon in Jackson County, Indiana, for unlawful possession of a firearm, drug paraphernalia and marijuana.
The 16-year NBA veteran was pulled over by an officer for a traffic violation. A trooper smelled marijuana, which is illegal recreationally in Indiana, and subsequently conducted a search of Rondo’s car. During the search, a firearm was found, and Rondo was arrested. However, he posted bail immediately and was released.
This is not Rondo’s first run-in with the law. He is currently prohibited from possessing a firearm as there is an active protection order filed against him after, in May 2022, the mother of his children secured temporary custody and an emergency protective order, citing an incident where he reportedly brandished a gun at their Louisville residence.
