Ex-NBA player Joe Smith and his wife, Kisha Chavis, sparked up a social media debate earlier this week after it was revealed she had an OnlyFans page without his knowledge.
“Just finding out you got an OnlyFans page all these years,” Smith said in a video his wife shared on TikTok upon his discovery. “That’s f*cked up, Kish. I’m telling you, that’s f*cked up.”
Now, Kisha is opening up about their relationship, which she admits has been riddled with financial issues, mental health struggles, and infidelity over the years. But, despite Smith being upset about her account, she’s confident it won’t end their marriage.
In an interview with TMZ Live, the former adult actress detailed the aftermath of the now-viral video, revealing Smith was “not talking to her” at the moment. She also explained how her husband found out and why it took so long for him to discover the page.
“I’ve had the page for at least over a year. It’s on my Instagram…But that’s what happens when you don’t pay attention to your wife, period,” she said. “He has a friend that he’s been entertaining, and she decided that she wants to really put a wrench, a bigger wedge, in our relationship, so she went digging around my page and was like, ‘Oh, do you know that she has this,’ and it went from that.”
Kisha revealed she was an established singer overseas before their relationship and thought coming to the United States and joining forces with Smith would help catapult her career, but that wasn’t the case. Instead, Smith left the league, drowning in debt, and ultimately slipped into depression. Then came the COVID-19 pandemic, which forced Kisha to take matters into her own hands to make ends meet.
“I just kicked in the drive and did what I had to do, and he won’t do it, so I had to,” she said. “I’m sorry, you knew I was an adult video star when you met me, so if I would do anything for my survival, then what makes you think that would change now.”
“I’m just sorry that he can’t understand that … it wasn’t a selfish decision,” Kisha continued. “It was a decision that I made. I made an executive decision when my man wasn’t taking the lead. I really love Joe.”
Regardless, Kisha isn’t giving up on their union.
“I don’t want to be alone, but you know, if that’s what it has to be, that’s what it has to be. But I don’t think we’ll have a divorce, I don’t think so. I think he’ll come around.”
