29 year old former San Diego Chargers player, Paul Oliver, died Tuesday night at his Georgia home around 6:40pm from a self inflicted gun shot wound and his wife and two juveniles were a witness to it all. Oliver had two children
“We appreciate all the thoughts and prayers,” the Oliver family said in a statement. “We request privacy in the wake of this tragic loss.”
Oliver’s former team also released a statement, “Everyone in the Chargers family is sad today after hearing the news about Paul,” it read, . “He was part of our family for five years. At just 29 years old, he still had a lifetime in front of him. Right now all of our thoughts and prayers are with his family during this most difficult time.”
Paul Oliver was drafted to the San Diego Chargers in 2007. Oliver moved to the New Orleans Saints in 2011 but was released after training camp was over. He returned to the Chargers for one final season.
