On Monday morning, ex-NFL defensive back Adam “Pacman” Jones was arrested following a police response to an incident involving a disruptive passenger at Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport.
According to Capt. Kevin Klute, Jones was officially charged with misdemeanors, including alcohol intoxication, disorderly conduct, and making terroristic threats. He was later released.
Mindy Kerschner, a spokesperson for the airport, stated that police received a distress call at 6 a.m. to assist airline crew members just before takeoff. Kerschner confirmed that Jones was indeed the passenger in question.
Specifics regarding Jones’ arrest were not immediately accessible. In an interview, Jones says that he had requested a seat change due to a malfunctioning phone charger in the two seats he had bought. He claimed that he was told the plane might need to return due to his request. However, Jones denied any allegations of intoxication and terroristic threats.
“I’m hurt, this is embarrassing,” Jones said.
Following his college football career at West Virginia, Jones snagged the first-round draft pick by the Tennessee Titans in 2005. Unfortunately, his NFL journey was ruined by a series of off-field incidents and suspensions.
After his initial two seasons with the Titans, Jones faced a suspension by the NFL for the entire 2007 season. This disciplinary action was a result of his conduct, which involved at least 10 instances where authorities interviewed him. In 2008, he made his NFL comeback with the Dallas Cowboys.
Subsequently, Jones joined the Cincinnati Bengals for the 2010 season and spent the majority of his professional career with the team. During his tenure with the Bengals, he achieved Pro Bowl selection in both 2014 and 2015. Jones concluded his NFL career with a brief stint in Denver, where he played seven games with the Broncos in 2018 before being released.
