Four former NFL players, Jamal Lewis, Dorsey Levens, Fulton Kuykendall and Ryan E. Stewart, filed a lawsuit against the league Wednesday in the U.S. District Court in Atlanta. They are suing the NFL over longterm injuries resulting from concussions they sustained while playing in the league. The suit alleges that the league was negligent in the research of head trauma and not adequately informing & protecting them. The men all cite memory loss, headaches and sleeplessness as just a few of their post concussion injuries. The players seek payment for medical expenses, past and future loss of earnings, general damages for pain and suffering, punitive damages and attorneys’ fees.

I think the players have a point. On any job, if you’re exposed to dangerous hazards on a daily basis, you should receive some type of compensation for injuries that can be proven to be related to such exposure. If they can prove that the NFL did not make sure they received adequate treatment and preventative protection, they may be able to get a killing.
