The 46th president will be none other than Joe Biden, and our Vice President will be for the first time, a double win, a Black female.
As news spreads, people all over are giving their reaction, including three former Democratic presidents and Trump’s former running mate: Barack Obama, Jimmy Carter, Bill Clinton, and Hillary Clinton, who have each congratulated the historic win.
Obama says he couldn’t be “prouder” for the duo’s win. In a statement on Saturday, Obama said that Biden has “got what it takes to be President and already carries himself that way.” He is hopeful that Biden will be able to tackle the “series of extraordinary challenges” ahead of him, noting that no other president has ever faced.
He adds: “I encourage every American to give him a chance and lend him your support.”
Our 42nd president Bill Clinton shared those same praises; “America has spoken, and democracy has won.” The 42nd president also predicted Biden and Harris would “serve all of us and bring us all together.”
America has spoken and democracy has won. Now we have a President-Elect and Vice President-Elect who will serve all of us and bring us all together. Congratulations to Joe Biden and Kamala Harris on your momentous victory!

Hillary Clinton also took to Twitter to congratulate Joe Biden and Kamala Harris. “The voters have spoken, and they have chosen @JoeBiden and @KamalaHarris to be our next president and vice president. It’s a history-making ticket, a repudiation of Trump, and a new page for America. Thank you to everyone who helped make this happen. Onward, together.”

As for Jimmy Carter, America’s 39th president, he congratulates alongside his wife Ruth, saying they are proud of Harris and Biden’s “well-run campaign and seeing the positive change they bring to our nation.”
