As if serving eight years in prison for attempted murder isn’t bad enough, former Seattle Seahawks cornerback Brandon Browner is now being sued by his ex-girlfriend for more than just trying to kill her. She’s seeking damages for multiple instances of alleged domestic violence at the hands of Browner.
According to documents obtained by TMZ Sports, the woman says she suffered from numerous acts of violence from Browner between 2016 and 2018 before he went to prison for her attempted murder. Three alleged incidents from that year include him hitting her across the face in one incident, making her lose consciousness in another and inflicting a carpet burn on her face in another incident.
In 2017, Browner’s ex claims he attacked her twice while she slept — once, allegedly picking her up by the neck, slamming her onto the bed and then chasing her through the street in her underwear. In the second incident, she says he punched her in the thigh repeatedly as she slept, leaving severe bruising.
In 2018, the woman alleged Browner broke into her home on two different occasions; the first being one month before the attempted murder. She claims he pinned her down to a couch for 15 minutes, threatening to hurt her and eventually leaving with her phone and keys.
The second break-in happened in July, which she alleges he tried to kill her in front of their kids. Browner’s ex claims he broke into her home through a window, dragged her back into the house, smothered her face into the carpet making her almost lose consciousness, and then forced her and their two kids into the living room to terrify them further.
Browner was arrested a month later and eventually charged with attempted murder, to which he pled no contest. Details on how much Browner’s ex-girlfriend is seeking has yet to be disclosed, and a court date has not yet been released.
