Former Arkansas Senator, Linda Collins-Smith was reportedly found shot dead in her Pocahontas home on Tuesday.
According to her former press secretary Ken Yang, Collins-Smith’s neighbors heard gunshots a day or two before her remains were discovered rolled up in a blanket on Tuesday night.
“I am in shock over the news of Sen. Linda Collins-Smith’s death,” Arkansas Lt. Gov. Tim Griffin tweeted. “I am heartbroken for her family & friends as they grieve, & my thoughts & prayers are with them during this tragic time.”
“Linda was a friend who had a deep faith in God & passion for her state & nation. She is missed.”⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
The 57-year old Republican was first elected to the Senate in 2014 for District 19 and served the state of Arkansas up until her re-election loss to James Sturch, last year.
Yang told KATV that Collins-Smith’s death is being investigated as a murder.’
