A 27-year-old man who worked as an aide to Donald Trump and the GOP was arrested for his role in a child porn distribution ring after he allegedly sent disturbing messages like “babies are some of my biggest turn-ons.”
According to the Daily Mail, Ruben Verastigui once worked as a digital strategist who helped design social media ads for Donald Trump’s reelection campaign. On Friday, he was arrested for his alleged participation in a child-porn distribution ring.
The Metropolitan Police Department charged Verastigui with distributing child pornography between March 2020 and February 2021. The Police investigation revealed evidence that Verastigui distributed, received, and possessed images of child pornography.
According to court documents, special agents with Homeland Security began looking into the Texas native while investigating a group of at least 18 people who agents say was trading child porn.
Investigators discovered Verastigui, who allegedly went by the username “Landon” in the group chat and on unnamed websites where he used the handle @somethingtaken.
In one communication, Verastigui allegedly told another user that “babies” were his “absolute favorite.”
