Former WWE star Marty Jannetty took to Facebook Wednesday, where he alludes to murdering a man who tried to molest him as a teenager.
In the post, Jannetty said that he’s “never told no one this,” and detailed a time when he worked at a bowling alley when he was thirteen, and he tried to buy weed from a coworker. He went on to say that the man “put his hands” on him and dragged him to the back of the building. “You already know what he was trying to do,” he said.
Jannetty then admitted, “that was the very first time I made a man disappear…they never found him,” Further insinuating that he committed similar acts on more than one occasion. The wrestler then suggested that authorities should have “looked in the Chattahoochie River” in Alabama, for the man’s remains.
As a result, the Columbus Police Dept. in Georgia revealed that they are “going to look into” Jannetty’s claims to see if there is actually any truth to them. “The first step will be seeing if we have any missing persons or unidentified remains cases that match the limited information in the post,” a spokesperson for the department’s homicide/cold case division said.
But now, amid the investigation, Jannetty is clarifying his claims.
“I said he disappeared, I didn’t say I killed him. I said he disappeared,” Jannetty told the Boston Wrestling Show, as he detailed the attempted rape, claiming that it all started after an alleged drug deal.
According to Jannetty, at the age of 13, he went attempted to score some weed. But, while in the car with the alleged dealer, Jannetty said the man groped him, which forced the former wrestler to flee the scene. However, when the man caught up to him, Jannetty said he pinned him down and attempted to unzip his pants.
“There was a brick laying there…what do you do when you’re 13?” he explained. “I can’t say he deserved to die, but he deserved to get his ass beat. And when I was beating him in the head with a brick, I was only trying to beat his ass, I wasn’t trying to kill him.”
“My brother Geno, bad boy, not one to mess with. And I never could tell him, ‘cuz I know what he would have done if I told him,” he said. “But I already took care of it myself…No other kids never had to worry about him.”
“Can you imagine dragging him to the river and throwing him in? And then finding out on the news this guy is missing? And you know the dude. And you know more than that…I made my mind up that day…nobody would ever hurt me again. And that comes with jealousy. My girlfriends are jealous. I can’t stand jealousy, and I was just trying to let her know that,” he continued. “I’m not saying right now that he died, but I’m just saying a person don’t need to die because they’re fucked up in the head.”
“Somebody told me not to do any interviews…” he revealed.
