An underwater search is underway after former WWE star Shad Gaspard went missing over the weekend following a beach day with his son.
According to PEOPLE, Los Angeles Fire officials said they responded to a medical request on Sunday around 3:56 pm, near 4200 S. Ocean Front Walk. Both Gaspard and his 10-year-old son were reported as missing swimmers.
Gaspard’s son was eventually rescued, but the search for Gaspard continues.
According to TMZ, the former wrestler, who was a member of the tag team Cryme Tyme, and his son were enjoying a beach day on Marina del Rey Beach. Sometime during the outing, the two were caught under a strong current.
A witness told the publication that just before the wrestler was pulled under by a crashing wave, he encouraged rescuers to help his son. The search continued until 7:30 pm on Sunday and resumed on Monday.
Officials are even encouraging fans to reach out with any information about Gaspard’s disappearance.
