A 52-year-old Fort Lauderdale resident hopes a picture of a woman in his phone will land her in jail after she reportedly drugged and robbed him.
On Jan.3, Eddie, 52, says that he and a friend were hanging out along Las Olas Boulevard when they ended up at Piazza Italia, WSVN reports.
“Me and him, we’re talking, and this woman was sitting at the bar, so my guy comes, ‘Hey, how are you doing? Blah, blah, Blah,’ so she started talking to us,” said Eddie. “She said, ‘I just came from [Los Angeles] or someplace, and I have three kids at a hotel.'”
Eddie went to an ATM to give the woman $100. There, he believes that she saw his passcode.
Afterward, the pair headed back to his Fort Lauderdale home.
The plan was for the woman to get a cab.
“Then she asked me for a drink, and I put out two drinks: one for me, one for her, and then, I went to the restroom,” said Eddie. “That was when she put something in my drink, and I felt dizzy and stuff.”
Although he did not lose consciousness, Eddie stated that he felt “disoriented.”
At that time, he mentions that the woman began acting unstable, then she left.
“Then I went to get my telephone, and my telephone was not here. My wallet? I don’t have my wallet,” he said.
The woman eventually withdrew $6,000 out of his account.
Later, Eddie discovered that the woman had left a key piece of evidence that could let her behind bars.
“When I went to my iPad, [I saw that] she took a picture of her face when she took my telephone,” he said.
Now, the victim hopes the picture will lead to an arrest.
“For me, it’s such an embarrassing situation. There are some people, that is what they do,” he said.
To make matters worse, five days after the incident Eddie tested positive for COVID-19.
