Four people were shot during a high school football game in Oklahoma on Friday night.
Officers responded to calls about shots being fired at Bill Jensen Field shortly after 10 p.m. during a game between Choctaw High School and Del City High School.
Choctaw Police Chief Kelly Marshall said during a press conference that victims were transported to a hospital for treatment. A woman was treated for a gunshot wound to her thigh before being discharged. Marshall did not have an update on the conditions of the other victims.
“I know one younger, possibly high school student, was treated,” she said.
In addition to the shooting victims, one person was treated for a possible broken leg.
Police identified a “Black male with a gray hoodie” as a suspect, but so far, no one has been arrested. The number of possible shooters remains unknown.
A Del City Police officer fired his weapon but was uninjured. Chief Loyd Berger said off-duty Del City officers were at the game assisting with security.
“I know one of our officers was involved and discharged his weapon,” he said. “As far as at who or if he hit anything, I really don’t know.”
The Oklahoma County Sheriff’s Office will investigate the officer-involved shooting and assist at the crime scene. Highway patrol and other community agencies also responded.
A video of the incident posted to X shows a chaotic scene. Players are on the field as shooting breaks out in the background. Everyone begins running away from the area as screaming is heard from the crowd.
The game announcer is heard telling everyone to “get down” as people scramble for cover.
