Tensions flared in Washington D.C. on Saturday night as ‘Stop the Steal’ protesters clashed with counter-protesters.
CNN reports that at least four people were stabbed, and at least 23 people were arrested during the protests. According to Mayor Muriel Bowser’s office, D.C. Fire and EMS transported eight people from the protests after 7 p.m., including the stabbing victims. The stabbing victims were listed in critical condition.
Of the 23 people that were arrested, six were arrested for assault on police officers, 10 for simple assault, four for riotous acts, two for crossing a police line, and one for possessing a weapon.
Mostly unmasked groups gathered outside the Supreme Court and at Freedom Plaza to protest the presidential election results. The gatherings were mostly peaceful.
