This time last year we reported that “celebrity broker” by the name of Makini Chaka filed charges against Washington Redskins tight ed Fred Davis after he poured juice on her head and busted her lip. If you don’t remember that story click here.
Well it’s time to pay the piper. According to WTOP:
Washington Redskins tight end Fred Davis has been ordered to pay a woman nearly $20,000 in a civil lawsuit, after a D.C. Superior Court judge ruled Davis “assaulted and battered” the woman.
Court records show Davis poured juice on, and threw an empty carafe at a Baltimore woman, Makini Chaka, at Josephine Nightclub and Lounge in D.C. on Jan. 6, 2011.
Chaka describes herself as a “celebrity broker” who arranges parties for entertainers and athletes.
In this case, she had organized an appearance for players from the Baltimore Ravens. Davis was also at the club with his own teammates.
Chaka was awarded $186 in medical damages she sustained from being hit in the lip.
She received $575 for her boots, dress, and hair weave, as well as $9,000 for lost wages and $10,000 for pain and suffering.
Davis had argued while he’d poured the liquid on Chaka, the carafe had slipped out of his hand.
Judge Laura Cordero wrote videotaped evidence admitted at trial contradicted Davis, showing he purposely threw the carafe at Chaka.
Hopefully the next time Fred will keep his hands to himself!
