Louisiana rapper Fredo Bang has tested positive for COVID-19 in a Miami jail where he is currently being held behind bars for a parole violation.
According to The Miami Herald, Fredo Bang, whose real name is Fredrick Given II, and rapper Lit Yoshi, whose real name is Mieyoshi Edwards were arrested on July 21, just one day before Fredo was supposed to perform at the Rolling Loud Music Festival.
At the time of the arrest, Edwards had a warrant for attempted murder in St. Tammany Parish, Louisiana.
The two men were living together in Miami Lakes at the time of their arrest.
Miami-Dade investigators wanted to speak to both men about a deadly 2019 shooting outside the Trump International Beach Resort in Sunny Isles Beach. Mohamad Jradi, a Hertz rental car employee, was killed during the shooting, and NBA YoungBoy’s girlfriend was shot. Bullets grazed three other bystanders. The two men have been linked to the rap group Top Boy Gorilla (TBG). The group is allegedly entrenched in a feud with NBA YoungBoy and his associates.
The murder has not been solved.
Givens will be extradited to Lousiana when he tests negative for the virus.
