Freeway Rick Ross is slamming the hit FX series “Snowfall” for stealing his life story.
The infamous former drug kingpin recently sat down with Shirley Ju on “Shirley’s Temple.” He explained that while working on a film about his life, the series jacked his story and ran with it.
“They stole my life story. That’s my life story. They stole my story, yeah. It’s a fact. John Singleton and I was supposed to be working on a movie, and the movie is still finna come out,” he explained before revealing that the film is still moving forward and is currently being cast.
Freeway, whose real name is Ricky Donnell, says that there is much more to his life, and FX is benefiting from it in a way that even he cannot.
The now-entrepreneur ran his drug empire from the early to mid-1980s. Freeway is estimated to have made over $600 million before being busted and subsequently sentenced to life in prison in the 90s. He was released in 2009.
During the interview, the author also addressed his long-standing beef with rapper Rick Ross, who he believes made a “mockery” of his name. Freeway even went so far as to sue Rozay in 2010, though the case was dismissed. Freeway refilled the lawsuit, and in 2013, a judge sided with the rapper. Freeway believes that the MMG boss is now avoiding him.
“A couple of times, I went to places that he was supposed to be, and he disappeared.”
Freeway says he reached out to Rick Ross to make amends and work together. However, after the “Hold Me Back” star dissed him during an interview with “The Breakfast Club,” any reconciliation plans were dropped.
