French Montana was recently awarded for his humanitarian work in Africa.
On Thursday, French received the 2022 Innovator Award for his humanitarian work during the annual Pencils of Promise Gala. The Moroccan rapper have consistently used his celebrity status to highlight and fund education, immigration, and health charities.
French was honored for raising over $226 million for healthcare in Uganda. Also, for his financial support for the Budondo Suubi “Hope” Health Center.
The center known as the region’s primary source of healthcare for new and expectant mothers as well as their babies.
“MAKING MORE HISTORY FOR MY PEOPLE!,” he captioned an Instagram post. “Thank you @pencilsofpromise for honoring me with the Innovator Award at last night’s gala. ✏️ Healthcare and education is a fundamental part of our human rights and should be accessible across the globe. I’m grateful for PoP acknowledging my work in maternal healthcare in Africa. PoP is doing groundbreaking work globally to keep kids in school and make sure they have a safe environment to learn.”
In addition, the gala also honored the daughter of late actor Paul Walker, Meadow Walker. Meadow received the 2022 Activist Award for her achievements as PoP’s Global Ambassador.
