As it was announced earlier this week that “The Wendy Williams Show” would end after its 13th season, friends of the daytime talk show diva are reportedly “very worried” for her.
According to Page Six, pals are worried about her health woes, heartache, and substance abuse issues that have plagued her over the last few years.
The 57-year-old is currently staying in Florida with her 21-year-old son, Kevin Hunter Jr., and those who know her are concerned, a close friend told Page Six.
“Wendy is missing her medical appointments down in Florida,” the friend explained. “People are very worried about Wendy and her wellbeing … We want to get Wendy back to New York City to get her back on track.”
Williams reportedly hired attorney LaShawn Thomas to help her fight Wells Fargo after the bank froze her assets and claimed that she is an “incapacitated person” in need of guardianship.
Sources told The New York Post that there are two camps currently battling for the right to help Williams get her life in order. In one corner is her longtime publicist, Howard Bragman, (who was reportedly fired this week) and manager Bernie Young, along with her longtime New York doctors and attorneys, in the other LaShawn Thomas and a newly hired publicist, Shawn Zanotti, both of whom have worked with Williams’ ex, Kevin Hunter in the past.
