From Baller To Broke: Dame Dash Says He Owes $100k In Rent & Will Lose His Home

Dame Dash was once on top of it all. He was the main man behind Jay Z, was seen popping bottles of Cris and living as luxurious as most would imagine. Well, times change and the once music mogul is not only owes millions in back taxes, he is also behind on several months of missed rent.

“I am currently several months behind in paying my personal bills. For instance, I am currently over $100,000 behind in rent for the only home in which I live and at risk of being evicted.”

Dash already lost a pair of multi-million dollar lofts in Tribeca to foreclosure in 2012. He had $7.3 million left to pay on the massive mortgages.

The $100k Damon Dash reportedly owes in back rent is also surprising, considering he once boasted ruling a $50 million empire. Along with being Jay-Z’s partner in Roc-A-Fella Records, he also co-owned the Rocawear clothing line. A split with his old business partner netted him about $20 million in 2004.

However, failed business deals, huge tax debts, and several legal battles have apparently left Dash in the lurch. Court records show that Dash already lost several lawsuits by landlords, fashion designer Charlotte Ronson, and a celebrity bodyguard firm.

According to Damon Dash’s latest court filing, the rap mogul is facing a possible criminal prosecution for non-payment of taxes in New Jersey. But despite the apparent mountain of debt, Dash was portrayed in a September 2011 article as living large. His home in Carmel boasted a full music studio, a pool, hardwood floors, and a beautiful view.

Dash added that his debt “has made it not only nearly impossible for me to maintain my businesses, they have caused me to fall far behind on my personal expenses.”

Sad case for Dame, man.
