From Steph Curry Trolling Dillon Brooks to the Chiefs’ Loss to the Broncos, Here Are Five Takeaways From Sunday in Sports

This past Sunday delivered a sports extravaganza that fans won’t soon forget. In one of the most electrifying moments, Steph Curry set the court on fire, dropping four clutch three-pointers and leading the Golden State Warriors to a victory over the Houston Rockets. And that’s not it. Sunday’s sports lineup had other head-to-head matchups that had us all at the edge of our couches. From the NFL showdown in New York to a nail-biting overtime battle with LeBron James and De’Aaron Fox goin’ head-to-head, and even a record-breaking performance by AJ Brown that left fans in awe. Here are five takeaways from this past Sunday in sports:

Warriors down Rockets as Curry embarrasses Dillon Brooks and hits the Home Alone Meme

Steph Curry made four late threes to take down the Houston Rockets on the road, finishing the game with 24 points, seven rebounds, and six assists. Dillon Brooks is always attempting to guard the two-time NBA MVP and Steph gave him exactly what he was looking for. Check out the viral clip below and Steph’s reaction.

The Ugliest NFL Win Came Within The Battle of the Two New York Teams

Zach Wilson and Allen Lazard caught two consecutive 29-yard passes in 14 seconds and moved the Jets within field goal position at the end of regulation. Jets Kicker Greg Zuerlin kicked a 35-yard field goal. According to ESPN Analytics, the New York Giants had a 99.9% win probability with 1:19 left when they had the ball on the Jets 20-yard line. Very disappointing result, and the Giants fell to 2-4. The Jets are now sitting at 4-2, an unlikely turnaround after the Rodgers injury.

LeBron James and De’Aaron Fox Battled Sunday In An Overtime Thriller

De’Aaron Fox and Malik Monk led the Kings to a win in dramatic fashion in overtime over LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers. Monk stole the show in overtime, scoring 11 of his 22 points in overtime alone. Fox finished the game with 37 points, eight assists, and four rebounds. AJ Brown Breaks Calvin Johnson’s Record as The Eagles Notch Division Rival Washington 31-24

AJ Brown recorded his sixth straight game with 125 or more receiving yards, breaking the previous record held by former Lions great Calvin Johnson. Moving to 7-1, the Eagles are looking more than capable of returning to the Super Bowl as long as they stay healthy.

Jalen Hurts has been playing through a knee injury. Brown’s just one of the weapons that Hurts used yesterday. But Brown was nothing less than impressive, making it hard to say there is a better receiver in the league. Please take a look at the one-hand snag for his first touchdown of the game yesterday.

After the game, the media asked Brown if he was excited to acknowledge the accomplishments and if he wasn’t interested in celebrating during the season.

“Not yet, because we still gotta work. Maybe someday I’ll sit down and be like ‘Go AJ!’ but not right now. We got Dallas next week. I hear they had a good game today.. It’s gonna be a war.”

Philadelphia and Dallas next week will be the game of the week.

Chiefs Lose Their First Game to The Denver Broncos in Eight Years

Denver Let’s Ride! The Broncos had lost sixteen straight games to the Chiefs — a team that Mahomes has owned since entering the league in 2017. 2,965 days is a long time and Mahomes threw two interceptions and was sacked three times.

The Chiefs fell to 6-2. It’ll be interesting to see how they respond after an uncharacteristic game from the Super Bowl Champions. Russ finished the game 12 of 19, passing for 114 yards and three touchdowns.

A bright spot in a deflating season so far for Denver.
