Disney’s hot streak continues as “Frozen 2,” the sequel to the 2013 smash hit has reached earnings of  $1.32 billion at the box office, making it the highest-grossing animated film ever made. Disney dominated the box office in 2019 with films like, “Avengers: Endgame” grossing $2.79 billion and “The Lion King,” which grossed $1.65 billion. Although “The Lion King” earned more, Disney views the film in a league of its own and refers to it as a “live-action” film versus traditional animation.

In “Frozen 2,” actresses Idina Menzel and Kristen Bell return as the voices behind the fictional characters, Anna and Elsa, who embark on a journey to discover more about their past. The film is filled with music, magic, and adventure, thereby proving that the Disney formula for success remains rock solid.

“Frozen 2” became Disney’s 6th billion dollar movie release of 2019 helping them to obtain a record for being the only movie studio earning the most billion-dollar films in a single year. Critics estimate that “Star Wars: Rise Of Skywalker” will join this list soon and become the 7th billion dollar film of 2019 for Disney.
