Fulton County District Attorney says she has been receiving threats over YSL’s RICO arrests and Georgia’s election investigation.
In an interview with WSB-TV, D.A. Fani Willis says she needs extensive security “to stay alive” after receiving threats. Some of the threats stem from Young Stoner Life’s recent racketeering indictment.
“We don’t believe that these threats were directed by anyone that is in the YSL indictment,” Willis says. “I would say that people that are very sympathetic, maybe admirers of YSL and people who are connected with them in some sense.”
Willis shared that she also has received threats from Donald Trump supporters due to the special grand jury. The jury was created to investigate efforts to overturn the results of the 2020 election in Georgia.
“Oh, it is definitely a significant driver of the heightened security,” Willis explained. “People are angry about that investigation. People are angry about investigations into gangs, so each of those things plays a factor.”
She added that while Trump has not targeted her specifically, she believes that she’s been under surveillance from an unnamed party. Willis states that she has changed her daily routine to stay safe. Willis did not go into details about the change due to someone who made threats knowing where she lives.
“I’m much more cautious than I’ve ever been in my life, paying more attention to my surroundings. It’s required for me to stay alive.”
