Fulton County, Georgia’s district attorney has requested to delay the trial of Young Thug, Gunna, and 26 other defendants who have been tied to an ongoing RICO case.
On Thursday, Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis filed a 10-page motion to delay the trials for Young Thug, Gunna and other defendants involved in the case. Fox 5 Atlanta reports that her move is due to at least eight of the defendants not having attorneys yet.
She’s looking to have the trial pushed back from its original date January 9 to March 27.
“A continuance to the final week in March would protect the speedy trial rights of those who have asserted those rights, while also ensuring that the additional eight defendants have properly prepared appointed counsel,” reads her motion.
Young Thug, Gunna and others have been accused of illegally having several firearms, including a modified machine gun, and participating in street gang activity along with drug trafficking, Fox 5 Atlanta reports.
