Funkmaster Flex Says Jay Z Is A Commercial Corporate Rapper That Drops A Hot Line Every 3 Months (AUDIO)

In case you missed it, Dipset dropped a Jay Z diss track and if that wasn’t enough, as promised Funkmaster Flex addressed Jay Z on his Hot 97 radio show — yet again!

Flex explained the alleged “This is HOV” text message he received from Jay Z after receiving hours worth of blocked calls. “My phone is getting called private, because I know whenever he does call me, he calls me private,” Flex said of the anonymous calls he was receiving yesterday. “Then he text me and spells his name in capital letters. Some people said, maybe it’s the phone and it automatically capitalized it or something well you should have re-did it lowercased it bruh.”

For the record, when you type Hov in an iPhone, it absolutely does change to HOV. Because iPhones don’t recognize Jay Z the way they recognize Beyoncé. No shade, just truth. Anyway, it’s at this point that Flex’s rant begins. “Even though I have this respect, I have such respect, I’m not going to let somebody try and handle me,” Flex says, “In 2015 bruh, I don’t do the caps in the texts. In 2015, you are a commercial corporate rapper that drops a little catch phrase every 3 months. Don’t talk to me funny in the text bruh, I don’t work for you.”

Oh…but he’s not done!

He tells Jay Z to stop having people call him because he’s not about to punk him. He also says he has nothing to say to Hov, though he apparently has a lot to say on the radio. He also warns Jay to not attempt to come at him in a song. “If you ever plan on taking a shot at me, or any subliminal, I will be on this radio every day going at you.” At this point I’m pretty sure Jay Z is frightened. Right? No? Oh.

“I think the problem that you’re not understanding is that you’re not the only boss in this city. Not that it’s me, bro. But New York is full of bosses as a whole,” says Flex, suggesting once again that he doesn’t answer to him.

So is Funkmaster Flex really getting dramatic over the use of capital letters in a text? Is this really over an app? Something tells me there is more. One of our readers suggests that this is bigger than Flex’s app, but more because Flex felt disrespected. According to the reader, Flex felt shafted after Jay Z signed both Angie Martinez and DJ Camilo to Roc Nation. He felt that he should have been the first to be recognized due to clout and seniority but most likely due to his mouth, he was over looked. We can’t confirm if this is true or not, but it would explain the ego.

Listen to the entire rant on your own HERE and let us know your thoughts. There are a lot less bombs in this one, at least.
