“She’s gon’ cry in the car!”
That’s the only thing left to do after such a tragedy at the 2020 TOKYO OLYMPICS. Many come far and wide to compete after years of training and hard work. To be present is an honor, but winning is every dedicated soul’s goal.
The race did not go well for Annika Schleu, who had been paired with troubled Saint Boy; each rider was only being allowed 20 minutes with unfamiliar horses before games. The horse wouldn’t trot and even bucked at the rider prior to Annika. Saint Boy, unfortunately, treated Annika no better, prompting her German Coach Kim Raisner to step in, which resulted in Saint Boy being punched in the face. This quickly earned Kim an immediate spot outside the games. Annika reportedly tried everything following her coach’s departure, even using her whip, but Saint Boy refused to comply.
Annika entered the arena in the lead position of the competition, and due to her issues with Saint Boy, she left tearfully in the last place.
