Future Addresses Rumors That He Changed His Last Name to ‘Cash’: “Bag Secured”

Future, whose real name is Nayvadius DeMun Wilburn, is addressing claims that he changed his last name to “Cash.”

Although he hasn’t confirmed the official name change, he did post an Instagram Story suggesting that the claims are valid.

The post read: “Future legally changed his last name Wilburn to ‘Cash.'” In his caption, he wrote: “Bag secured. Da biggest.”

After reports that Future had sold his publishing catalog made headlines in September, Future’s net worth was estimated at $40 million. Influence Media Partners acquired Future’s music in a deal that was said to be in the “high eight figures.”

“I put everything into my music, and I wanted to make sure these were in good hands as I thought about the next chapter of these songs,” Future said. “I’m proud to partner with Rene [McLean] and the team at Influence Media. [To] send a signal that this music has timeless value. My music is my art, and these songs represent some of the most precious artwork of my career.”

This will be Future’s first time seemingly addressing rumors that he did change his last name.
