Future has dropped his defamation lawsuit against the mother of his child Eliza Reign.
After a back-and-forth legal battle, Future officially dropped his defamation case against his daughter’s mother this week, BOSSIP reports. According to court documents, legal parties for the two agreed to dismiss the case, which means Future will never be able to sue her again over the matter.
The case revolved around Future’s claims that Reign revealed intimate details about the two’s former romantic relationship. He also said the mother harassed him via social media. The rapper sued Reign back in February 2020, accusing her of falsely claiming that he tried to convince her to get an abortion. She claimed that when she changed her mind about getting an abortion, he allegedly threatened to have her murdered. The Atlanta rapper said the entire ordeal left him embarrassed and that he was humiliated after Reign exposed details about their sex life, which allegedly included describing his penis.
There are no details on the terms of the dismissal or if the two settled out of court. At the time, Future claimed that Reign’s actions were detrimental to his career and image. He said he suffered “tremendous emotional distress” and it “turned his world upside down,” according to new court documents, BOSSIP reports.
Despite this case finally coming to a close, Reign and Future’s paternity matter is still ongoing and is expected to be heard in court soon. It was recently found that Future is, in fact, the father of Reign’s daughter. During their legal tussle, Reign declined Future’s offer of $1,000 a month in child support. Reign ended up asking a judge to punish Future for allegedly evading court orders to turn in his financial records in to her so that they can agree on a child support amount.
