Future Ends The Year Performing At Barclays Center With 21 Savage, King Combs, Chinese Kitty, And More

Future closed out the year by shutting down the Barclays Center in Brooklyn on Friday, alongside 21 SavageKing Combs, Chinese KittyDJ Bobby Trends, and DJ Spade. The show served as a preview to Future’s “One Big Party Tour,” which kicks off on Jan. 7 in Houston.

“No better way to end 2022 than with a show in NYC at Barclays Center. Happy to be in one of my favorite cities in the world,” Future said ahead of the show.

Chinese Kitty kicked the evening off, bringing out rising superstar Maiya The Don to perform her hit “Telfy.” Next up, Kings Combs took the stage for a set filled with plenty of special guests. He brought out drill rapper B-LoveeCapella Grey, and the Queen Bee herself, Lil Kim. Kim came out during Combs’ “Can’t Stop Won’t Stop,” which contains a sample of her 1997 hit “Crush On You.” She stuck around to perform a verse from “All About The Benjamins” for the packed house.

Maiya The Don told Baller Alert that meeting Lil Kim backstage after her performance was the highlight of her year.

“My favorite moment of 2022 just happened. I just met Lil Kim after she performed,” the newcomer said. “It was crazy! I almost passed out.”

21 Savage took the stage and performed several songs off Her Loss, his joint project with Drake, in addition to hits like “10 Freaky Girls,” “a lot,” and “Bank Account.”

Future came out dressed down in Cam’ron pink, even donning a pink fur hat reminiscent of the Harlem rapper’s 2002 viral Fashion Week outfit. Very appropriate for a New York performance. The Atlanta performed plenty of hits, including “F*ck Up Some Commas,” “Mask Off,” and “Bugatti.” Future also performed several new songs from his 2022 album I Never Liked You.

Future’s 24-song set featured special guests, and Brooklynites, Lola Brooke and Fivio Foreign, sending the crowd into a frenzy. Fivio performed “City of Gods” and “Big Drip” before launching into a Pop Smoke tribute alongside Future.

When asked how it feels to perform in his hometown, Fivio said, “It means a lot. It’s legendary.”

Mr. Miller, CEO of Lions Group and one of the many that had a part in putting on the event, said that this is their first event of this scale, and they hope to use it to springboard into putting on other large-scale events.

Up next, Future will head out on his “One Big Party Tour,” with stops in Houston, Charlotte, Atlanta, Chicago, Washington D.C., and Boston. He will be bringing Kodak Black, Trippie Redd, EST Gee, Polo G, Babyface Ray, Doe Boy, Lil Jairmy, Rob49, Double 00, and Ocean x Kungfu along for the ride.

Following the tour, he will gear up for Rolling Loud California 2023 at the Hollywood Park Grounds outside of So-Fi Stadium in Inglewood. Future is headlining Day 3 of the festival. Other headliners include Playboi Carti, Travis Scott, and special guest Lil Wayne.
