The details of Scooter’s death were unclear for days, and attention turned to the woman who falsely called the police, aspiring influencer Demetria Spence. She was arrested and charged with transmitting a false public alarm after making up a story about a domestic dispute, later denying it on Instagram.
Scooter and Future were lifelong friends, having met as youngsters in Atlanta’s Kirkwood Community. Their bond remained strong throughout their careers, with Future consistently shouting out Scooter in his music. The two were inseparable, often appearing together at concerts and making collaborations throughout the years.
