Rapper Future had a few things to get off his chest about Jay-Z’s diss from his hit album “4:44.”
The Atlanta native said he and Jay had a sit-down, in which the two discussed Jay’s line from album opener “Kill Jay Z,” where Future claims Hov dissed him saying, “In the future other n****s playin’ football with your son.” Future says he felt the line was a cheap shot, and not supportive.
“JAY-Z, when I talked to him, [he said] ‘Man, I didn’t mean to say that. I didn’t mean it like that,'” Future told The Durtty Boyz show earlier this week. “I was just like, You supposed to be bigging up the rap community. You need to let the NFL deal with the NFL. You supposed to be bigging up me, anything. We come from the trenches. I come from the streets, you come from the streets. You’re supposed to be bigging me up. You’re not supposed to be giving no negative attention for a hot line for something that’s gon’ always be out.”
Nevertheless, Future says he’s moved on and isn’t worried about old drama. “It is what it is…I ain’t even trippin’ off him,” he added. “I’m trying to get where I’m going and ain’t nobody gon’ stop me. Whatever going on: the talking, the captions or whatever, the memes. It can’t stop me because there’s a vision that I have and there’s goals that I have done set out for myself that I gotta get done no matter what.”
