‘Atlanta’ is set to return for a fourth season, even though production for season three has yet to begin.
FX broke the news on Tuesday at the Television Critics Association summer press tour, revealing production for both season three and season four will begin spring of 2020.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
According to reports, both seasons are also slated to have eight episodes each. “What more can be said about ‘Atlanta’ than the critical acclaim and accolades that Donald, Paul, Dianne, Stephen, and Hiro have earned for two exceptional seasons of what is clearly one of the best shows on television,” Eric Schrier, president of FX Entertainment said in a statement on the show. “This group of collaborators and cast have created one of the most original, innovative stories of this generation, and we are proud to be their partners.”⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Created by and starring Donald Glover and Brian Tyree Henry, ‘Atlanta’ has already won two Golden Globes, and five Emmy Awards from the first two seasons. However, the cast and crew, which includes Lakeith Stanfield and Zazie Beetz, with further executive producer credits going to Glover’s brother Stephen, Paul Simms, Dianne McGunigle, and Hiro Murai, are expecting to build on that success with the forthcoming seasons.
