FX’s ‘Atlanta’ Will Not Return Until 2018

The good news is that FX’s hit show ‘Atlanta’, featuring the very talented Donald Glover, is renewed for a second season. The bad news is that fans will have to wait until 2018 to see what the next moves are for Earn, Paper Boi, and Darius.

The show, which Glover also created, has captured audiences across the nation with its refreshing, creative, and hilarious take on life in one of America’s biggest and most diverse cities. In its first season, ‘Atlanta’ has already won a number of awards, most recently winning two Golden Globe Awards last Sunday. Despite the show’s popularity, FX announced on Thursday that ‘Atlanta’ will not return until next year, mainly due to Glover’s work schedule.

For those of you that don’t know, the rapper/actor/writer landed a role in the upcoming Hans Solo Star Wars movie as Lando Calrissian, which Glover says is a huge accomplishment for him. “Lando’s a big deal to me,” he said at the Golden Globes. “It was literally the first toy I ever got.”

So fans, we’ll have to be patient until the show returns in 2018, but I have no doubt that it will be worth the wait.
