Garcelle Beauvais Shares Why Her Relationship With Will Smith Was Short-Lived

Garcelle Beauvais shared the reason why she and Will Smith‘s romantic relationship ended.

On the recent episode of the Las Culturistas podcast, the reality TV star details her brief relationship with Will Smith. According to Garcelle, she and Will met on the set of The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. This happens to be shortly after Will divorced his first wife Sheree Zampino.

“I was an ingenue,” Garcelle began recounting the relationship. “He was single and a TV star so we went out a couple of times. It wasn’t a long-lasting relationship.”

She then explains the reason why their relationship was short-lived. Garcelle stated that Will and Sheree’s son, Trey Smith, slipped up and mentioned Will’s relationship with his now-wife Jada Pinkett-Smith.

“I remember one day calling him and he was in the car and his son with Sheree was in the back. So you know, he picked up on the car or Bluetooth or whatever it was back in the day or speakerphone. Whatever it was and he said, ‘Hey; how are you doing?’ And I said, ‘I’m great.’”

She continues, “And I heard this little voice in the background go, ‘Is that Miss Jada?’ And that’s when I was like okay, I’m not the only one. Exit stage left. If a kid knows somebody then that person’s a little bit more important, right?!”

Since then, Garcelle and Sheree have publicly spoken about them both dating Will. During an episode of ‘RHOBH’, the two shared a lighthearted conversation about the past.

Elsewhere in the episode, Garcelle speaks about Sheree joining her on the upcoming season of the reality show.

“It’s just nice to not be the only one in the room,” Garcelle says referring to being the only black cast member. “It’s nice to have someone that I know who has my back.”
