A Georgia man is reaching new heights after undergoing an $80,000 surgery to make himself taller after a woman rejected him for being too short.
Dynzell Sigers, the 27-year-old from Atlanta, has documented his journey on TikTok under the username @mrbrokenbonez. In the videos, he showcases his rigorous rehabilitation process after the limb lengthening surgery in December 2022, which took him from 5-foot-5 to six feet tall. The motivation behind his physical transformation was his crush declining his advances partially due to his modest size.
“In my teens, I was once rejected by a girl I had a huge crush on, and although she found me attractive, her reasoning was that I was too short and too young for her,” he explained to NeedToKnow.co.uk. The former Navy medic says her words stayed with him for years, which prevented him from approaching women. Throughout the years, he researched ways to get taller and came across the groundbreaking surgery, though it is no easy procedure.
Per the Cleveland Clinic, lengthening surgery involves cutting the bone in two and adding a rod and or external fixator to both segments of the bone. The two ends separate over time, allowing new bone to grow in the middle.
Sigers had to learn to walk again after undergoing six total lengthening procedures to achieve his desired results. In his TikTok videos, Sigers shows himself at the Live Life Taller clinic, where all his surgeries were performed. He uses a scooter and walking sticks in several clips during his physical therapy sessions. Within the first three months, a key was placed on his fixators that were turned to tighten the rod. It could take up to a year for the bone to finish growing. With such a complex process just to be tall, does Siger regret any aspect of her makeover? Absolutely not.
“I feel like a new man, like I could get a second chance at life,” he stated.
