Georgia Pedestrian Killed In A Hit-and-Run

A pedestrian was fatally struck by a vehicle while trying to cross a Brookhaven roadway Friday night.

The tragedy occurred on Clairmont Road and Clairmont Way around 9 p.m. Brookhaven police have asked the Georgia State Patrol to investigate the incident, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported.

Authorities have not released the pedestrian’s name, but say the victim was on the sidewalk and tried to cross Clairmont Way when they were struck by a dark-in-color vehicle, GSP spokesperson Lt. Mark Riley said.

Unfortunately, the pedestrian suffered fatal injuries. The driver continued driving west on Clairmont Road, Riley added.

The make and model of the vehicle are unknown.
