Early Saturday morning, a Georgia police officer was shot and killed on his first shift with the Alamo Police Department.Â
According to NBC News, Officer Dylan Harrison, 26, was fatally shot outside the police station by Damien Anthony Ferguson, 43. The suspect is not yet in custody.Â
“Officer Harrison was a part-time Alamo police officer working his first shift with the department last night,” said Georgie Bureau of Investigation spokesperson Natalie Ammons at a news conference.
Harrison was also employed full-time by Oconee Drug Task Force in Eastman, Georgia. He is survived by his wife and 6-month-old son.Â
