Rick Ross‘ rags to riches life story will now be the main focus of a college course at Georgia State University.
As reported by Fox 5, Ross’ life and professional journey will be examined at Georgia State’s College of Law in the upcoming Fall 2023 semester as an integral component of their “Legal Life Of…” series. While discussing his accomplishments, the course will encompass topics like drafting contracts and overseeing clientele as illustrative components.
The course emerges from Professor Mo Ivory, director of Georgia State’s Entertainment, Sports and Media Law Initiative, passion as a devoted Hip Hop enthusiast. Additionally, it will recognize the significance of Ross’ contributions to the rap industry, which she deemed essential to highlight.
“As a lover of rap music, Hip Hop culture and in celebration of the 50th anniversary of Hip Hop. I could not think of a better time to study the career of a visionary like Rick Ross,” Professor Ivory said. “When I began my research on Ross. I realized early on that my students would learn about a businessman who turned his love of music into an empire that includes massive real estate holdings, food and beverage franchises, investments in the car and bike industry, literary works and corporate equity ownership.”
While his business endeavors are receiving attention within the academic sphere, Ross has been actively broadening his real estate holdings. Recently, the rapper sealed a deal for a $35 million residence in Miami’s upscale Star Island neighborhood, which also serves as the residence for renowned figures like Diddy, Jennifer Lopez, and Shaquille O’Neal. The lavish 40,000 sq. ft. property reportedly encompasses six bedrooms and nine bathrooms, along with an array of luxuries such as a games room, a sprawling in-ground swimming pool, and a 40-foot waterfront dock.
